LLC’s St. Patrick’s Day Gala

Joshua (Josh) William Shuman served as a psychologist in Dayton, Ohio, where he worked at the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center providing direct patient care to veterans and their families until 2014. Outside of his professional endeavors, Joshua W. Shuman also participates in several charitable organizations, such as the Life Learning Center in Kentucky.

The Life Learning Center is a nonprofit organization that works to assist those in regional communities who lack the opportunities of their peers or are facing a multitude of challenges in their daily lives. The center is largely focused on providing these individuals with education and care so as to help them achieve personal success.

As a nonprofit, the Life Learning Center relies on volunteers and fundraising events to continue offering classes, seminars, and programs for the people it serves. One of the most popular fundraisers is the annual St. Patrick’s Day Gala. The gala is an evening-long event with a plethora of attractions, an Irish-themed dinner, cocktails to continue the celebration, and finally, an auction of donated items. All proceeds benefit the Life Learning Center’s mission to help those facing poverty and other challenges.

Life Learning Center – Providing Permanent Life-Changing Support

As a former staff psychologist at Miami County Mental Health Center in Ohio, Dr. Joshua William Shuman provided assessments and referrals. Dr. Josh Shuman proceeded to become a psychologist at the Dayton Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Additionally, Joshua W. Shuman was a volunteer life skills teacher at the Life Learning Center in Covington, Kentucky, in 2015.

A privately-funded 501(c)3 organization, the Life Learning Center (LLC) assists individuals in its community who face issues with unemployment, legal histories, family situations, limited education, and homelessness.

What sets the Life Learning Center apart from many other organizations is that it strongly believes in permanent and transformational change. Through its programs and support, it strives to see individuals who are struggling create long-term success for themselves. Many similar programs provide temporary support, but with accountability and the proper tools, LLC hopes to take this help a step further to assist individuals achieve positive and lasting life changes.
